I.   Absolute Attribute 3 - His Perfection:

1.  He is Perfect in that He possesses all Knowledge.  Isa 44:7;  Job 37:16

 

2.  God is Perfect Truth.  Jn 14:6

 

3.  In God every Truth in every form of knowledge is absolute. (Why BD as the revelation of God is to be communicated dogmatically)

 

4.  This guarantees the genuineness of Divine Revelation.  Jn 15:1; 1 Jn 5:20; Jn 6:32

 

5.  God is Absolute Love.  He does not acquire it but has always had it,  even without an object ; 1 Jn 4:8

 

6.  God is Perfect Holiness.  Dt 32:4

 

7.  His Integrity is maintained by His Will.

 

8.  His +R/J, which are also Perfect, must be satisfied in order to bestow His Perfect Love to His creatures.  Eph 2:14-16

 

J.  His Analogous attributes are those related to Time, Space, Matter and Creatures and are not subject to anything He created.                  1 Cor 15:27 

 

K.  Attributes related to Time:

1.  Eternity concerning God indicates that He has always existed  and will always exist.  Jn 1:1;  Heb 1:12

 

2.  Time is God's creation and therefore He is not subject to it.  Gen 1:5;  Dt 32:40;   Ps 90:2; Ps 102:27; 1 Cor  2:7; Eph 1:4; 1 Tm 1:17

 

3.  Time has succession and duration, while Eternity has only duration therefore is immeasurable.

 

 

 

L.  God's Attributes related to Space:

1.  This attribute is described as Immensity.

 

2.  God is not subject to Space as He created it.  Ps 148:1-5;  Rom 8:20 - has authority over it.

 

3.  He is both Imminent (in space) and Transcendent (out of space) at the same time.  He exceeds the Universe to an Infinite Degree.

 

4.  Omnipresence (not measurable) describes Space in relationship to God.

 

5.  Immensity describes God in relationship to Space. He exceeds it  to an infinite degree.

 

6.  He is in Space with the same Intensity at all points and even out of Space.    Ps 139:7;  Jer 23:23-24;  Acts 17:27

 

M.  Attributes related to Matter and Creatures:

1.  He is personally present everywhere and yet is free to be local. (cf Angel of the Lord passages)

 

2.  He can even become flesh.  Jn 1:12-14

 

3.  He is all wise which means He knows the actual as well as the possible.    Ps 147:4-5;  Ps 33:13-15;  Acts 15:8;  Heb 4:3;  Mt 6:8; Prov. 8:23

 

4.  Since God is not subject to time, the future concerning Matter and Creatures is just as clear to Him as the past.  Isa 46:10 =  declaring the end from the beginning

 

5.  He foreknows every volitional decision but is not the Primary Cause of it:

a.  He can influence it via BD;

b.  As Satan has been permitted to do with evil and the counterfeits. 2 Cor 4:3-4

c.  God will not climb into your soul and make you decide,  and Satan can't.   Jn 3:16 cf 1 Jn 4:4b

 

6.  He is all powerful:  Ps 33:6 =  By the word of the Lord the heavens were arranged.

a.  Question!  Does OmPo have some limitations?  Yes!!

1. He cannot lie. Titus 1:2; Heb 6:18

2. He cannot tempt one to sin.   Jas 1:13

3. He cannot deny Himself.   2 Tim 2:13

 

b.  His Omnipotent power is seen in His creation Ps 33:9

1. in preserving all things    Heb 1:3

2. in delivering Israel from Egypt    Ps 114

3. in the resurrection of Jesus Christ    2 Cor 13:4

4. in the Gospel    Rom 1:16

5. in our security as Believers

6. in our resurrection   1 Cor 6:14
