Lesson 36
11. The believer has the option of entering evil several ways.
a. Failure to reprogram their thought process with BD/DVPT. 1 Sam 12:24; Rom 12:1-2
b. The choice of path belongs to the Believer. Ps 119:30
c. Rejection of the truth heard.
d. No application of the truth.
e. Satan's objective is to lock you into his system therefore neutralize you in the spiritual war. (shuts down spiritual life)
12. So every time you apply Truth in your life you demonstrate the futility of Satan's System. The greater the application, the greater the witness to the Grace of God, His Plan in operation. Gen 22; Phil 2:5-16
13. Every time you fail to apply God's Truth you provide another opportunity for God's Grace and demonstrate that His Omniscience has accounted for failure.
14. Our Goal after salvation should be to remain on the Right Side of History.
- can only do that through the Word and the Spirit being continually operative in life!
15. During the course of Human History, God judges all aspects of Evil to demonstrate its futility in thwarting His plan.
The Resolution of the Conflict on an Individual Basis:
1. You cannot legitimately deny that you are a
part of this conflict. Eph
2. So, you must learn about it and seek to apply
the Word of God. 2 Cor
3. Your impact and survival in the
angelic conflict requires the "Full Armor of God:" Eph
a. We must be empowered by the Lord, operate in His strength: Eph 6:10
1) This requires or begins with salvation, plus the consistent ministry of the Spirit filling us with Christ, that is His Word and on our part to believe that truth and apply it as appropriate.
2) We cannot fight Satan and his forces alone, in our own strength and ability.
3) To be successful we must utilize the spiritual resources that are provided in grace. Phil 4:13
b. Standing against and resisting the Devil requires the "Full Armor of God to be utilized."
1) The schemes in view are thru the areas of evil (his counterfeits) that he uses to try and entrap all mankind. (thoughts, personal sins, human good, various agencies)
2) Notice that we are to have ALL the armor, the full armor, for maximum protection.
3) No strategy can prevail against you IF you use the your resources!!
c. You
are in the middle of the conflict whether you like or realize it or not. (
d. The
armor is not put on for you! (
1) You have to put on this armor; (Others can help and should - you have to do it)
2) And you have to decide to stand against Satan, by not becoming a "friend of the world." Jas. 4:4
3) What Paul is saying here is that if we have responded to the commands of Scripture making the necessary adjustments for the warfare, putting on the armor, then one is able to stand firm even in the face of a ruthless foe.
