Major Points Made in the Chapter

1. The problem of Nebuchadnezzar vs:30

2. In this whole situation is seen the purpose of God.

Neb's Encounters with the True God.

1. First Neb meets God's men, Ch-1; Daniel personally in ch-2; and His 3 buddies personally in ch-3.

2. In ch-2 Neb has a dream and he meets Daniel who gives him the dream and interprets it for him.

3. Third encounter comes after having made a great image in Dan 3.

God's Method of dealing with Neb is pointed out in Job 33:14-17.

Detail Study of chapter 4

1. 4:1-18 Takes in the dream

a. Begins with an Intro in vs:1-3 Form = A Proclamation; 5 features to it.

#1 4:1a "Neb the king to all the peoples, nations and men of every language that live on the earth;"

#2 4:1b "...May your peace abound."

#3 4:2a "It seemed good to me" it was volitional;

#4 4:2b "to declare the signs and wonders which the Most High God has done for me."

#5 It was Doctrinal in that he makes 3 assertions about God that are correct.

2. About His Sov.

3. About His eternity.
